Our story

A long journey in search of authenticity, enjoyment, and shared experiences... and a few hidden gems!

Pepilou’s was born from a very simple story: that of a mother, Louise, who was dealing with her very young children’s food intolerances—and the frustration of not being able to find, on a daily basis, bread and pastries that were truly delicious, appealing, and good for them. But also from a time when food, all of a sudden, was no longer just about “taste,” but became a matter of urgency.

When a child (or you yourself) has to cut certain foods out of their diet for health reasons, you quickly realize the reality of the situation: once the diagnosis is made and a few tips are given, you’re often left on your own to face the magnitude of the change. You have to learn about new ingredients, find your bearings, cook differently… and do it right away.

Through trial and error, curiosity (and a bit of stubbornness!), one thing became clear: gluten-free food can be joyful, indulgent, and deeply nourishing—as long as you stick to the basics: quality ingredients, time, and a commitment to craftsmanship.

Light & Delight: Help, Share, Lighten

Parental burnout gave rise to a heartfelt desire to help. This desire first took shape as Light & Delight: a website designed to share tips, recipes, and practical tools, so that dietary restrictions become less burdensome, more manageable, and less isolating. This project was honored with an Aha! Award from the Swiss Allergy Center in 2021.

Pepilou’s: A Practical Solution for Everyday Life

Very quickly, the desire to take things further became clear: to do something more tangible, more immediate, that helps in everyday life—even when you don’t have the time or energy to make everything from scratch.

Pepilou’s is part of this tradition: an artisanal gluten-free bakery and pastry shop born from the same mission—to bring back pleasure, comfort, and simplicity to a diet that can sometimes become complicated.

Pepilou's are the "Pépitfrom Louise": sourdough creations and treats designed to accompany everyday life—the rushed breakfast, the comforting snack, the bread you slice and freeze, the dessert you share.

A facility dedicated exclusively to gluten-free products, to minimize any risk of cross-contamination

An approach where artisanal craftsmanship meets nutritional common sense, backed by training in nutrition and micronutrition: carefully selected ingredients, a clear ingredient list, and recipes that are as enjoyable to eat as they are easy to digest.
